Wallington May Queen

Welcome to the Wallington May Queen Site.

Emily Hogan will be crowned on Saturday
4th May 2013 outside the Old Town Hall at 1pm.

Wallington May Queen was founded in 1903.

The May Queen takes girls from the age of 3 upwards. The younger ones start off as fairies before becoming attendants. The girls progress from attendants through Crown Bearer, Banner Bearer, Prince until becoming May Queen.

Each year the new May Queen is taken in a procession to be crowned on the steps of the Old Town Hall in Woodcote Road.

Later in the year she will parade around the streets of Hayes with the other May Queens from all over London. The May Queen also rides on a float in the Carshalton Carnival as well as opening a number of fetes and fairs throughout the year as part of her duties.
